We try to keep our curriculum open ended because we like to base it on the children's interest. We have a calendar that we hand out at the beginning of each month and post on the website. It tells what our letter of the week, number of the week, theme, and color of the month is. We do assessments in fall to see where they are and then again in the spring, so that we can compare them.
We do letter tactile. We usually do a craft to go with our letter of the week and sometimes have snacks that coordinate as well. To get parents involved, we ask parent and child to come up with a word list at home for the letter we are working on. We add worksheets to help identify letters and numbers. We do a variety of number activities including games, and number sorting. We do some activities with shapes and a color of the month.
